We received a talk and presentation from Whitbread’s team managing the development and extensions:
- Whitbread propose to build an additional 67 bedrooms and add a 250 seater restaurant facing Euston Road.
- This will involve adding two upper floors to the Euston Road frontage and building a 7 floor annex in the carpark.
- Whitbread suggest the development should take approximately 65 weeks (1 year and 3 months) to complete should planning permission be granted by LB Camden.
- Carpark access / resident access will have no permanent impact on Somerton House residents.
Whitbread say they are committed to be a good neighbour and will try to minimise disruption as far as possible.
We’ve since held an on-site meeting with Whitbread’s project management in the carpark to raise current on-going concerns over fire safety, health & safety, right of access and logistics.
